Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is therapy that is founded upon the principal that how we think, how we feel and how we act are all related to each other. For example, negative thoughts can cause unhappiness, which in turn can lead to various difficulties within our lives.
CBT is based on the idea that negative thought patterns, which cause negative emotional and behavioral reactions are learned over a long period of time. The aim of CBT is to identify the thinking that is causing the negative feelings and to replace this thinking with more positive thoughts.
